Turn Back Time

It was a different world.. where everything was preposterous and over the top, and kids still watched cartoons on Saturday mornings, and people still answered their phones...  What's not to love about the 80s?  (In frame: Alexandria P.)

House of Sister

It's not too often that I get to venture out to Oak Ridge, New Jersey.  It's a beautiful town.. and I regret that I didn't take the opportunity to take a few scenic photos.  But it's always a pleasure shooting with the multi-talented Heather Stevenson (@thecommercialkid), who is a fashion designer/mua, and model.

City Lights

Just a half-century ago, the Empire State building was the tallest freestanding structure in the world.  Nowadays it's looking a bit short compared to all the recent development projects.  Here's a view from across the Hudson River. (f/11, 10 seconds)

And the darkness comprehended it not..

It's more than just a photo of blurry lights.  My inspiration for this picture came from a reading of a Bible verse, John chapter 1, verse 5.  When accurately translated it reads "The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it" (I am aware that there is another interpretation).  Obviously the writer is referring to Jesus, the light of the world.  But how true indeed that for most of the world, they recognize that he is good.. but don't really have grasp on what He's about.. hence the blurry lights.

Portrait

There is nothing quite like shooting portraits in good natural light.  I find the strobes and speedlites fascinating, but to me, this is what photography is really about. (Model: Raye Mira Fuentes. More from this shoot here.)
