Fairy Lights

 As I've recently discovered, there is a lot of cool stuff you can do with fairy lights.  I've only dabbled with it a little bit, but really need to study up on this versatile prop.

Coldness

 

I've been told that New York City is the coldest place on Earth.  That may be true on many levels, but in terms of temperature, you don't really understand what that means until you've lived here for a while.  I've lived in colder places, but I really only experienced the coldness in that short amount of time it took to get out of my car and to the entrance of the building where I was going.  That's not so much the case around here.. where you have to spend 10-15 minutes or longer regularly, on foot with the wind blowing straight at you.

Christmas Eve

The Milestone

 This was definitely one of the highlights of my year.  I had the opportunity to shoot a concert at Sony Hall, with Jim Brickman and Angel Ram, performing along with some of the most talented musicians I've ever seen.  It was really an amazing show. 

Autumn

Autumn is here... a little bit late this year; But always my favorite time of the year.

 

Dusk

Smile, and look at me

I've been shooting a lot of graduations lately.  And while I'd much rather be a portrait photographer rather than an event photographer.. shooting these kinds of events forces me to stretch my skills, to make the best picture in situations where the light is much less than ideal.
 

20 years

 

This has become somewhat of an annual tradition for me.  I began going out on the night of September 11th, in the year 2018.  Since then I've made it my mission to capture the tribute lights from a different perspective each year.  There is nothing quite like being by the water and viewing the city on a cool September evening.  I'll be doing this for as long as those lights continue to shine, and as long as I am able. (Location: Staten Island)

Quince

 

It's not everyday you get hired to shoot a quinceanera.  This one was certainly a one of a kind experience for me.

Thriving

I was taking a walk around midtown the other day, and it really does look like NYC is back.  The crowds have returned and businesses are open.  People are out and about.. doing all the things they did before 2020.  It's a nice feeling.. and there is a sense of normalcy (at least for now).
